When my husband and I decided to travel to Russia, there was a quiet sense of fear about how the entire trip would unfold. However, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and memorable journeys of our lives.

We had to take domestic flights from Moscow to Murmansk and to St. Petersberg, we were only Indians in the whole flight. Initially, this left us bemused, but soon we grew accustomed to it. Although it’s little peculiar we enjoyed people stares, At times, my husband and I even felt like we were a rare species—almost like friendly aliens wandering through a foreign land.

But trust me, Russians are incredibly kind and warm-hearted people—nothing like the cold, stern portrayals often seen in American movies.

What makes this experience even more amusing is the fact that we managed to travel across three wonderful cities in Russia without knowing the language at all—and yet, everything somehow fell beautifully into place.
